It’s rose season in North Texas and we got you covered! We have an impressive selection of knockouts, drifts, and hybrids in an array of colors and sizes. Roses are well-loved at Springtown Garden Center due to their low-maintenance needs, fast growth, and pops of color.

Spring is the perfect time to go down to the store and pick out some roses that speak to you. You’ll find white, pink, red, coral, yellow and more colors to choose from. With proper care, knockout roses can grow tall and wide while the drift rose variety will stay small and compact.

Rose bushes and trees can complement many different landscape styles and design. When planning your space, choose an area with full sun and plenty of room for growth. Once you have determined the perfect location for your rose bush, dig a hole that is twice as wide and a bit deeper than the root ball. We recommend mixing a high-quality compost into the soil. Use a shovel or your hands to create a small dip in the soil around the plant to allow water to collect. This will ease the transition from container life to ground life.

Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil and remove any air pockets around the roots. Once established, roses are drought-resistance and low-maintenance, but be sure to water every few days right after the initial planting. Although known for their low-maintenance nature, roses benefit from occasional pruning to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Intermittent watering during hot and dry spells will help your rose thrive. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches, and trim back about one-third of the overall growth to promote vigor and flowering.

Rose varieties are a wonderful addition to your lawn and garden to add year round color that takes very little time and maintenance once established. Come check out our selection and bring some vibrant color into your garden!
